One of the strategies is so powered than instead of waiting, you open your email and find 2 happy clients who have not yet referred you. I have used this exact strategy and formed a partnership with an agency that sends me at least 1 new client each month. I also make sure the agency is bigger than my consultancy, so I’m not competing.

I usually email the person in charge of business development, as they focus on building relationships with outside vendors. I reached out to a dozen or more web agencies that were offered a personalized e-mail that offers to the partner or takes over any work he goes through. Usually when an organization rejects a prospective client, they send their client to a new company in their network.

When I say “lost client”, I’m referring to clients you’ve talked about in the past or sent a suggestion to, but didn’t win business. It could be a small project or even start a new conversation about hiring you, if they are unhappy with their previous choice. Send them a follow up email asking how their project is coming up, and if there is anything you can do for them.

Asking how you can help this person, whether it be helpful to give feedback, suggestions, hints or to do a little thing, and it helps you build relationships with the right people. These platforms allow you to track who visits your site, and allow you to serve them later via Facebook, Twitter, and other online marketing channels. Facebook Ads and Google AdWords are great ways for prospective clients to advertise your advice. I find Facebook ads easier to use than Google AdWords, which is definitely a great way to learn if you are new.
