How we as Writers Use Communication

Always compare yourself to people who are doing much better. Not to be sad or anything, but rather to take the best practices that they have to offer.

How to Get Your Ideas Out and On To Paper

A good thing for nurses like me or shifters who don’t have time to write a blog in between your shifts is you can use apps or tools.   You can use a voice recorder or voice app on your phone and whenever you have a thought or whenever you think of something. Write it in your notepad on your phone or Google Keep. In that way, you get your thoughts for your blog or for something else you want to write. It’s a lot easier to disseminate those ideas.  Google Tasks is also a great app. Make sure that your thoughts are structured or else you’ll lose people’s attention.

The Benefits of Writing Every Day

The biggest benefit is that you want to write every day even if it’s 30 minutes. You win the day. If you write like 500 words even if it’s terrible, you feel a sense of accomplishment. If you get that small win over time or even just a couple months you start to build up your confidence not only as a writer but as someone who has important things to say.

How to Keep Things Timely

Focus on creating timeless pieces of content. You are just going to speak for the people you are truly writing to. Understand what they want and deliver that. The most successful people are the people that do that because they’re listening to the audience.

The Love Letter Exercise

Write a love letter to the person you’re making the blog for. The more specific you are about that person, you’ll be more motivated. So I’m encouraging all of you to think about what the endgame is. And if you start from the end and in say 5 years you want this person’s life to be transformed, to be inspired and change.  You’ll have a much easier time staying motivated today.

Seth Godin’s First 10 Exercises

So what does the first ten mean?  If you’re new to blogging, send your blog to 10 people that you know will help and then 3 people will come back to you. It’ll start to make you feel that you’re doing something important and you’ll know exactly why it is important to people.

I really appreciate Brenden’s enthusiasm at such a young age. I think you’ll love it too!
